The Korea Social Security Information Service,

a leading information platform organization that fulfills inclusive welfare,

started as the Korea Information Development Institute for Health and Welfare on December 7, 2009

and received the UN Public Service Awards Grand Prize for the Social Security Information System in 2014.

In accordance with the enforcement of the “Act

on the Use and Provision of Social Security Benefits and Search for Eligible Beneficiaries” from July 2015,

with the discovery of welfare blind spots 

and the expansion of studies and research functions on social security policies,

it was newly launched as the Social Security Information Service.

Furthermore, as the role of international cooperation work is strengthend in June 2020,  

the name of the institution has been changed 

from the Social Security Information Service to the Korea Social Security Information Service.
